KRASH stands for Kaiserslautern, Ramstein, Altenglan, Sembach Hash.

What KRASH Is (and Isn’t)

  • KRASH will exist separately and does not replace Sembach.
  • Start with Wednesday evening trails that do not conflict with Sembach (see Wednesday guidelines).
  • Eventually add a weekend trail that does not conflict with Sembach; most likely Sundays opposite Sembach.
  • One unique new tradition: the hare is responsible for finding the next hare.

Trail Types & Timing

  • Wednesday Evening Trails (Summer months)
  • Sunday Afternoon Trails (Winter months)
  • Distance: ~3 miles max
  • Start time: flexible at first to maximize participation (target 18:00–18:30 hares away)
  • Hare’s choice formats: Dead Hare, Live Hare, Combo, Pub Crawl, etc. Instructions will be given to the pack ASAP.

Violations (Crimes Against the Hash)

  • Nerd names
  • Pointing
  • Smoking in circle
  • Private parties
  • Not knowing a hash song when called upon by the RA
  • Anything deemed funny by the pack — a crime not deemed funny by the pack becomes a crime against the accuser.

Dues

  • Beverage of choice brought by the hasher/harriette who brings it.
  • We may later ask for a €1 donation if the pack decides the hash should purchase longevity or other items.

Future Items

Hash Positions

  • Grand Master/Mistress (GM): Responsible voice and leader of the pack.
  • Religious Advisor (RA): Keeper of the traditions; runs the circles.
  • On-Sec: Secretary and keeper of the books.

Marks

  • Revert to simple markings.
  • Special marks will be briefed by the hare(s).

General Guidelines

  • Age
    • Drinking in circle: legal drinking age only.
    • Trail participation: if you can handle trail, you can run trail with us.
    • Circle: tricky one… children under ~4–5 years, and those over the legal drinking age. We love kids, but we may behave differently with children present (and vice versa).
  • Discrimination — KRASH will not discriminate against anyone for any reason besides age (as noted above).
  • Fun — The hash should be fun for everyone. People may be made fun of; it’s not personal—meant to be funny, not harmful. Members should be able to “take a joke” and should not attack others.
  • Prior longevity — KRASH had zero hashes as of 30 April 2024.
  • Respect — None of us is better than the next person, except for this: the person running the circle, or the person currently being addressed in circle. Respect is mutual. Need to speak privately or take a call? Please leave the circle area.
  • Nudity/Profanity — We’re adults and many of us are connected to the US military; these things exist. That said, let’s try to keep them away from the locals.

Mismanagement

There is no Mismanagement.

Current Hash Schedule

  • Spring–Fall Equinox: Trails every other Wednesday at 18:00.
